Here is a brand new promo for Big Araia, my film project about reconnecting with Eritrean culture. Many people have wanted to hear from me directly, so I hope this short presentation helps to answer any questions anyone might have about this film. If you have already donated, THANK YOU! Pass this video and the donor link http://bigaraia.com/?page_id=21 to anyone who might be interested. If you haven’t supported this project with a small donation, there is still time! This is a grass roots project and won’t happen without your help!
This is a short clip of my mother telling the story of how she met… and lost my father. Music for the promo provided by Kevin MacLeod.

July 26, 2012 at 8:15 pmWow … wow. I enjoyed the clip and wish you all the best.
We actually just met at Tryst where I overheard you talking to your friend about your efforts in having this documentary made.
I mentioned an old friend, whose name it’d taken me more than 5 minutes to remember it’d been so long! Her name is Aracelis Girmay, and she is Eritrean and Puerto Rican. Just listening to you sort of inspired me to reconnect with her. We had such a great friendship! So now I’ve tracked her down and emailed – LOL! All because your story had reminded me of her and her efforts to reconnect with her father’s side of the family since her parents had separated when she was young.
Anyway, she’s a professor at Hampshire College now and I’ll be sure to share your website with her – and of course support the film! Bueno Suerte!
